Performance appraisals can be time consuming for busy managers. The temptation to put off or postpone reviews can be high but this can give employees the impression that they are not important or taken seriously. Many organisations time appraisals with the start of the new financial year which can create overload for managers. Consider staggering appraisals, or using the anniversary of when an employee joined the team to space out reviews over the year.
