Impact’s Apprenticeship Programme Success
For National Apprenticeship Week, we wanted to tell you a bit more about our own apprenticeship programme, and how we recognise the importance of developing and growing the potential of young people. Impact – Psychology for Business recently grew their team by launching a Business Administration Apprenticeship programme, appointing Niamh Oakes as Business Administrator and Marketing Assistant.
Impact’s Apprenticeship programme continues to provide Niamh with the opportunity to gain a real understanding of the working world, helping her to develop her own skills and knowledge, achieving industry-recognised qualifications. Niamh chose to embark on her career journey after completing her GCSEs, stating that “I wanted to try something different from a school environment and start my career in a way that meant I gained experience while learning about the structure of a business”.
Niamh’s role at Impact will teach her how to provide an efficient and effective administration service, bring creativity to Impact’s marketing strategy and think of fresh ways to improve the organisational success of Impact. Niamh will play an important supporting role at Impact; she will combine learning from experts in business with completing business modules to gain her qualifications.
Niamh said, “I was quite nervous at first, but since joining Impact I’ve felt nothing but welcomed and comfortable. I’ve learned so much already, and I’m really excited to see what more I can experience and develop in the future”.
Apprenticeship programmes are a viable alternative to university for those who want to ‘kick start’ their careers. While Niamh starts to develop her own skills and carve out her own career pathway, she brings ‘fresh eyes’ to the business, sharing creativity and innovation from a younger generation.
Shelly Rubinstein, Impact’s Chief Executive, said, “Niamh exceeded expectations during the recruitment process and showed a natural fit to Impact’s values and business drive. She is a real asset to Impact and is already contributing to the success of the business, she is supporting on a number of projects and teaching the team top tips on how to utilise social media”.
Impact’s apprenticeship programme is the latest addition to Impact’s existing career development programmes. For several years, Impact has taken on psychologist interns offering them a chance to gain valuable business psychology experience. Impact has continued to strengthen their team as several of the interns chose to continue their career at Impact.
The whole team recognises the importance of offering Apprenticeships for young people and are passionate about supporting those entering the job market. Niamh is very keen to learn, develop and grow and overall is an invaluable contribution to Impact. Impact are very excited to be on this journey with her.
